Kitten Care - Medication & Supplements
We encourage a vet visit within the first 3 days of taking home your kitten.

Medication:

Panacur (for deworming - do not recommend Strongid-T) RX

Ivermectin (gets rid of ear mites and used as heartworm prevention - get dosage chart online) can get OTC at Tractor Supply

The three mandatory immunization shots (usually administered starting at 6-7 weeks, every 2-3 weeks, until 13 weeks of age) include: the feline panleukopenia virus (FVR/FHV-1), feline herpesvirus-1 (FVC), and feline calicivirus vaccines (FPV). Rabies is also required in most states.

Terramycin (over the counter antibiotic for eyes)
Supplements:

Probiotics for cats (VetriScience brand)

L-lysine for cats (Trulysine Viralysine Gel)

High calorie supplements for gaining weight (Ventoquinol Nutri-Cal )

grooming
Siberians will need routine grooming. We recommend the following:

Soft baby hair brush (for training little kittens to enjoy brushing)

Nail clippers (with LED lights)

Undercoat Rake and De-matting Tool

Grooming comb (one with long and short teeth) for removing tangles and loose fur from undercoat
-
Dawn dish soap for bathing (rinse very well after any shampoo)

Hepper Deshedding Brush

Grooming wraps (super helpful for trimming nails or getting out tangles)
Litterbox Items
We recommend the following:

World's Best flushable cat litter (ok for robot litter boxes as well)

Cat litter trapping Mat - has honeycomb look

Stainless steel litterboxes

Litter robots (off brands are less expensive)

Pine pellets (most inexpensive litter solution, you can remove solids and dump saw dust around landscaping as 100% pine) *not for use in robot litter boxes

Crystal cat litter (this will work in most robots but rough on feet)

Pidan Tofu flushable litter (not for use in robot litter boxes)
-
Litter Genie (disposal system for solid waste or clumping litter - similar to a diaper genie)

Tidy Cat Breeze Litter System (you can find off brand liners likje Amazon Basics, and clay pellets from other brands like Honey Care, which are less expensive - especialy as nonabsorbant pellets can be washed and disinfected although they don't tell you that)
Toys & Household Items
We recommend the following:

Tunnels, large ones that can be arranged in a circle and thrown in the wash (just make sure there ar no rips in the lining ever!)
